Worthy State Officers, Counselors, and Squires and Brother Knights,
We are having our Squires State Bowling Tournament on August 27-28, 2011, in Baton Rouge at All Star Lanes on 9829 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA. 70816. We are asking for you to email back your Squire entries for Singles, Doubles, and Teams to george.martin@louisianasquires.org . Singles and Doubles will be together as last year. You will bowl three games and your singles scores will be counted for your singles score and doubles score. Team bowling will be a four man team. We will have Seniors (14-18) years old and Juniors (10-13) Divisions. You can make a team or doubles with a Junior on it, but they will compete in the Senior Division. We will Bowl Singles/ Doubles on Saturday starting at 9:00AM until we finish and Teams on Sunday starting at 9:00AM until we finish. We will have a Squires Meeting after we finish bowling to discuss upcoming events. The Deadline to enter the tournament by email is August 22, 2011. Counselors, we will have our own competition and you need to register any KC Members or Dads to bowl on Saturday also.
All Star Lanes is requesting the State Squires Program to pay for all the Bowling with one check per day. We will need your Circle to mail a check for your entries for the total amount to the Squires Chairman at 405 E 4th St., Broussard, LA. 70518, made out to LA State Squires, and post dated by August 22, 2011. This will ensure that everyone has paid and we can have the names logged in and help us be ready to Bowl on time. If there are any issues with a bowler not showing up, we can reimburse your Circle. We will award trophies on Sunday after the events are completed.
Hotel Rooms will be available if you need one and will be paid through their own Circle. The Ramada Inn, located at 10045 Gwenadale Ave., Baton Rouge, LA. 70515, is just around the corner from the Bowling Lanes. I have 15 rooms Blocked, with all Double Beds. Tell them you are with “George Martin Block”, and they will reserve your room for you. They need for you to call by July 22, 2011 to reserve your room, so they can guarantee your room. The room rates are at $65.00 plus tax.
Mass will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA., at 4:00 PM. We would like to sit together as much as possible. Please dress appropriately- No shorts, sandals, flip flops, or t-shirts, and please take this time to show the Clergy our respect and follow this dress code. Immediately following mass we will have family bingo at KC Hall on Black Bayou.
We ask each person playing bingo to bring an item to be used for bingo and door prizes (minimum of $5.00). We will serve hamburgers and hotdogs and drinks for dinner.
