Worthy State Officers, Counselors, and Squires and Brother Knights,

Sacred Heart of Jesus Circle 4444 will be hosting the Squires State Bowling Tournament, which will be held at Lafayette Bowling Lanes, in Lafayette, LA. This is a good time to come out and experience some sportsmanship and brotherhood together. You will need to register every Squire that wishes to bowl. If there is any Squire that wishes to bowl and may not have enough for a team, please come and we will pair up teams as much as possible. The fees are as follows: each game bowled is $3.50 per game and $3.50 onetime fee for shoes for the weekend. Saturday, registration will begin at 9:00 AM until we start bowling at 10:00 AM sharp. There will be instructions, prayers, and pledge prior to starting.

Saturday, we will bowl teams of four. You will have to separate your Squires into teams of Juniors (10-14) and Seniors (15-18). In case you do not have enough bowlers to make a team, Juniors can bowl on Senior team, but Seniors cannot bowl on Junior team unless they are classified as a Senior team.  After we finish bowling Saturday, we are asking you to attend mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Broussard, LA, at 5:00 PM. After mass, we will have dinner for all the State Officers, Squires, Counselors, and their families in the Gym next to church. (Please wear appropriate attire for Mass, no shorts)

Sunday, we will start again at Lafayette Bowling Lanes, at 9:00 AM sharp. We will Bowl Singles and Doubles as we did last year. Please make every effort in eating a good meal before you bowl. This will help to speed up the games on both days. With the help of the Counselors and Family members, we can keep the Squires focus on the bowling and not on the surroundings such as video games and other parts of the bowling lanes that would distract them. I would like to issue a challenge to the Counselors, if there is room, we will have a friendly bowling challenge and bragging rights for one year. Each person wanting to bowl would pay for their own games and shoes on Saturday. Contact Chris Fruge or Michael Gerald the day of the event for Adult Bowling Challenge.

We will follow USBC RULES. Trophies will be awarded in different categories on Sunday, after everyone is finished bowling. Hotel rooms will be at Candlewood Suites in Lafayette, LA. Please read information on one of the following pages. Please register online no later than July 30, 2012. This will allow me enough time to ensure that there will be enough lanes for the Squires to Bowl on and enough food to feed everyone. Here is my email address and my personal information to contact me: Michael Gerald: 337-552-5823 michael_gerald@bellsouth.net for Bowling Questions, Chris Fruge 337-552-4588 cbf80808@yahoo.com for room, church, or dinner questions.
